Baseball & softball midseason recap

The baseball and softball teams are wrapping up their season and working out the kinks in order to finish strong. Baseball is currently ranked in the top 20 in State.
“The season has been ups and downs so far; we need to keep getting better. Being a young team we have a long way to go. We just need to keep improving each day,” head varsity coach Phil Bodine said.
As of May 9, 2016 the boys are 17-8. Bodine commented that their “goals are win 20 plus and win the regional and beyond.”
The softball team is Currentlyis 10-10. The team’s goal is to win conference and be regional champions.
“I feel like we are struggling with getting our bats around when we need runs,but I feel like the bats are coming around more as we play,” Mariah Cura said.
Cura is a junior but is already committed to the University of Davenport, Michigan.
Cura said they have many outstanding teammates this season.
“I feel like a leader, but I know we have many great role models on the team! We are lucky.”
