Junior Ivy League hopeful Brenden Beranek won a $10,000 scholarship from dosomething.org for his charity work.
“[I won it} for doing charity work and for spreading awareness about current issues like gender awareness,” said Beranek.
He also said it is easy to sign up for the organization and the charity work.
“Their home page is really easy to follow and it will tell you everything you need to know,” Beranek said.
Beranek has high aspirations for his future, aiming to go to an Ivy League school and eventually teach high level mathematics. He loves calculus and stated that it was “the best class”.
“I would like to go to Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island and study mathematics,” Beranek said, “I would like to be a Calculus professor at a college.”
He already has ties to Brown University, as he was accepted into their pre-college program. He has also already taken a course in the summer.
“I was accepted into their pre-college program from last year, so I already took Reading 265 there over the summer,” Beranek said.
His long term goals in life are to retire early and live a happy life.
