As a person who is known for being extremely nostalgic and overly sentimental, saying goodbye to the place I’ve spent the last four years of my life at, no matter how atrocious it is, will be hard.
Throughout the past four years at this school, I have made friends that will be difficult to say goodbye to. Even if most of my friends are staying in the Chicagoland area, it will be a big change to not see them at least once a day.

I have also been involved in a variety of after school activities that I don’t want to leave behind, with the most notable one being The Paw Print. I joined the newspaper during sophomore year and by second semester, I was hooked on journalism. I wanted to become the editor-in-chief for my junior and senior years (which I did) and even attended summer programs at Eastern Illinois University and Northwestern University.

Without the Paw Print, I wouldn’t have met some of my best friends and my favorite teacher, Ms. Butler. Since she had me for two periods every day for the past three years, Ms Butler watched (and helped) me grow into the person I am today.

Other than academics and extracurricular activities, I spent a lot of my senior year politically organizing. I was one of the committee heads for March For Our Lives Chicago, and I now sit on the executive board.

Though I will miss seeing the friends I made in high school every day, I am excited to move forward to Loyola University Chicago, where I will be majoring in political science.
