Q: What made you want to do tennis?
A: What made me want to do tennis was Nintendo Sports.
Q: Really?
A: Yeah, I discovered Tennis on Nintendo Switch Sports and I really liked it. That was the spring of freshman year.
Q: How long have you played for?
A: I started in May of 2023, so two and a half years.
Q: What is your preferred way to play? Singles or doubles?
A: I prefer doubles. I really enjoy singles but I like doubles because of the camaraderie and my teammates. I like my doubles partner as well.
Q: Who’s your doubles partner?
A: Emmy Lio.
Q: What is your goal in tennis? Do you want to get scholarships?
A: I would like to get a scholarship, but I don’t think that’s in the cards for me. so I’m just hoping to gain skill and passion.
Q: Do you plan to continue playing after high school?
A: That’s a big question mark.
Q: Okay, well do you want to play after high school?
A: I would like to play after high school, but I just don’t think that’s gonna happen for me.
Q: Who is your inspiration?
A: My inspiration on my team is, well she graduated, but Annie Meyer was my inspiration last year.
Q: How has your season gone so far?
A: I’d like to say it’s gone pretty swell, pretty swagalicious.
Q: How many meets have you had?
A: We’ve played four meets and I’ve won three of them.
Q: Have you guys traveled to other schools?
A: We went to JCA and we lost that, and then we went to Oswego High School and [we] won that.
Q: How many people typically come to watch your matches?
A: Not many. It’s usually parents of our team. A lot of parents come, there’s a few parents that come every time. But, about 10 to 15 people total.
Q: What do you like to do when you’re not playing tennis and not doing homework?
A: I like to hang out with my friends. We go to Starbucks and that’s pretty much it.
