Q: “How has flag football impacted your life and schedule so far?”
A: Since I literally have never had this many classes ever in my life before, and I now have AP classes, which I’ve also never had in my life before, and compared to last year, it’s just a lot. I don’t get home until about 5:00pm every day, and then I have like 2 hours of homework.
Q:Would you say you’re passionate about it, or is it just overwhelming?
A: I would not say I’m passionate yet. I do not like football that much, but this is making me like it more than I would have if I did not do it.
Q: What encouraged you to participate in flag football over other sports?
A: Well, for one, I know I wasn’t going to get on the volleyball team. Those girls are too good, and they’re too tall. For two, last year, I don’t know what happened with the tennis tryouts. I just didn’t want to have to go through that again. Also, this is like a new sport, I just wanted to try something new.
Q: Which sports have interested you most out of those that you’ve done?
A: From freshman year, to this very point in my life, I’ve tried out for volleyball. I did bowling, I did track, and now flag football. I liked tennis the most out of all of them, even though I haven’t done it since freshman year. I think flag is starting to beat it out, mainly just because I feel like I could be better at it.
Q: Do you think you’d be able to set a record for the school?
A: Eventually. I will go for best snaps.
Q: What did you feel when you heard flag football was an option?
A: When I first heard that they were having a flag football team, I was like that’s cool, and I was kind of hesitant. But then I had some convincing, and even though I didn’t go to the camp in the summer, I still came, and I got on the team.
Q: Do you regret not going to the camp?
A: I regret not going to the camp, but at the same time, I really thought I was going to be more busy. I was not busy, I had nothing to do. I should’ve done the camp.
Q: What position(s) do you play in
A: I’m the center. The centers are always potential receivers and don’t have to run as far on the field.
