Lyla Luebbing

Lyla Luebbing, Editor In Chief

My name is Lyla Luebbing, I am 16 years old and a Junior at Plainfield South High School. Since becoming involved with The Paw Print in my Sophomore year, I have been inspired to continue writing for the diverse voices at South.

I’ve chosen to become an editor for the paper mainly because I enjoy writing. Deciding to take journalism as a Sophomore was one of the best decisions I’ve made. I’ve learned to master my writing competence, and more importantly I’ve gained key teamwork skills. Writing has always been a talent that I’ve possessed. Discovering new aspects of writing has been an intriguing experience, and something that I’m grateful I’ve had an opportunity to study.

Outside of school, I’m an active member of Scouting America. Since I’m already an Eagle, I’m currently helping the newest generation of scouts navigate through their early adventures. What I like to do to relax is sit down and watch one of my favorite comfort movies, like A League of Their Own and Little Women. I love listening to music, specifically genres like R and B and Indie, while reading fictional and fantasy novels.

I’ve chosen to return to journalism again this year because I’ve fostered the aspect of writing other people’s stories. I think that one of the most important things that you could do is preserve and share information for public knowledge. I’m excited to continue writing under The Paw Print vision and along with my fellow editors. I look forward to another great year!
