Sophia Hudecek, Feature/ News Editor
Hello everyone, I am Sophia Hudecek, and I am the News/Features editor for The Paw Print this year!! This is my first year as an editor, but I have written pieces since I was a sophomore, when I took Journalism 1. I’m excited to contribute my thoughts and opinions to the paper this year and see it continue to grow throughout the school year!
The reason I chose to pursue a career in journalism is that I love writing and want to share my voice, as well as the voices of others. Even when I was younger, in class, when I had free time, I would write mini-stories. I would read a lot growing up, and I was called the bookworm all the time, and teachers would have to take my books away to make me stop reading in class. Thankfully, I don’t have this problem anymore.
When I am not at school or doing the paper, I am in the fall play/ spring musical for crew, and I want to try out for a part this year. I am also in one acts, which is a student-run club that puts on a skit near the end of the school year. I also love listening to music or true crime podcasts and playing with my dog named Happy, and yes, his name describes him perfectly. I also have a twin brother, which is pretty neat. I am also a big horror geek and watch horror movies with my mom all the time.
My favorite horror movies of all time are the classics. Like Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, and the Scream franchise. Also, some of the more recent ones like Thanksgiving, Heart eyes, and the Fear Street franchise. Also, I love the book series, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, by Alvin Schwartz, and the movie that came along with it in 2019. I am a fan of the macabre and all things dark.
