2015 World Series Recap

The 2015 baseball season was a memorable one. The National League Central had the three best teams in baseball two of which (the Chicago Cubs and Pittsburgh Pirates) had to play in a wild card game. The New York Mets showed almost no hope in playing during October but then they got hot. The 2015 World Series got off to a very exciting start with Game 1 going 14 innings making it the longest Game 1 in World Series history. The Kanas City Royals won game one and the next game also . The New York Mets took game three which was a critical win. If they lost they would’ve been down three games to none and only one team in MLB history has come back from three games to none. Many people thought the Mets would come back and win the series, because the last time they won the World Series they lost the first two games by the same amount of runs and won game three by the same amount of runs. Kanas City took game four making it three games to one. Game five Matt Harvey the ace for the Mets who before the season ended said he was done pitching this year because of his inning limit. Harvey though came in and pitched eight scoreless innings had 9 strikeouts. In the ninths Harvey stayed in the game and the royals ended up tying the game. In the top of the twelfth inning the Royals Christian Colon who has not had an at bat all of the postseason came up to bat with a runner on third one out and drove in the RBI which gave the Royals the lead. The Royals ended up winning the game in that inning scoring four more runs and won the World Series for the first time since 1985.
