Girls cross country excited for new talent

Girls cross country is back and right on track for their goals this season.

“Our goal is to place higher in conference than we ever have before,” said senior and fourth year varsity runner, Greta Carlberg.

Their first meet resulted in a first-place win and the girls have placed in the top three in every proceeding meet thus far.

“Cross country is very much a team sport, more so than a lot of people realize. To win meets, to place high, the entire team needs to work together and run well” Carlberg said.

In order to succeed, the whole team must work together, and according to senior and fourth year varsity runner, Lexi Grigg, that has not been a problem.

“We have a very young team, so we are looking forward to seeing a lot of new talent. And so far the season has been successful,” Grigg said.

Though the team does sometimes face rough moments, they still sticks together, according to Grigg.

“We really do become one big family by the end of the year,” Grigg said.
