Making his return after his last tour back in 2022, Maluma kicked off his Don Juan Tour Aug. 31 at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California, and will wrap up Nov. 4 in Miami’s Kaseya Center. He will make stops in Las Vegas, Houston, New York, Chicago, Boston, Atlanta, Orlando, and more.
On Oct. 13, Maluma performed in Chicago at Allstate Arena. Although the start date of the concert was 8:00 p.m, the concert officially started at around 9:00 p.m., and ended at 11:00 p.m. Tickets range from as low as $43 and average around $187 per seat. All attendees are given a plastic light wristband that is bluetooth coordinated with the venue, making the experience even more enjoyable, adding to the essence of the tour.
The setlist for the Oct. 13 show was composed of some of his most iconic songs like Chantaje featuring Shakira, Corazon, Vente pa’ca, 11 p.m, Borro Cassette, Felices los 4, Hawai, HP, El Perdedor, and more. Many fans sang along for the majority of the concert, as the majority of the audience was made up of older fans, most in their early to late 20s, who have followed him since the beginning of his career in 2011. The crowd also included a good number of teenagers. Because Maluma is a Colombian artist, many of the attendees were Columbian and many carried around Columbian flags.
The stages consisted of high energy and fast moving performance, and the crowd was up and dancing along to all the songs, as well as just enjoying the moment. The majority of the demographic for gender was made up of females, compared to men, which was expected considering that reggaeton artists typically have more female fans then males. Regardless, most of the concert venue had all seats filled. There wasn’t anyone who was sitting down throughout the performances at all.
Maluma gave a heartfelt speech towards the middle of the concert, thanking everyone who has followed his journey for the past 11 years since he started his career. This added to the overall emotional feeling of having followed his career for so long, and seeing him grow as an artist.
The overall vibe of the concert was exhilarating and thrilling. The genre that is reggaeton is typically a very hyped and upbeat genre of music; therefore, there was truly no moment of rest and the performances just kept going and getting better. The performances of the back up dancers really added to the vibe and feeling of the concert.
The concert was truly one of his most memorable ones in terms of performances. Bringing back some of his most iconic eras and songs in his career, taking us through the most significant and impactful moments that really made his career as a Latin artist.
