Yesterday, Nov. 11, the media center held arts and crafts during all lunch and study hall periods for students who signed up on the Google form to create watermark bookmarks. This isn’t the first time the media center has done something similar to this.
Periodically throughout the school year, the media center does arts and craft activities, whether it is bookmarks or last Dec., when students made ornaments for the holiday season. Some students like going down to the media center when arts and crafts are held so they can relax and talk with their friends.
“I like the environment more. I think if you need to study, it’s a good environment, but also if you wanted [to] spend some time with your friends outside of class. You can do different things,” said Ines Vargas, a senior who went down to do the arts and crafts in the media center.
With the stress of finals coming up, this is a nice way for students to come down, make a fun craft, and talk with their friends, even if they don’t share the same study hall and or classes.
Gwendolyn Kuhns, the media specialist, sends emails to students and posters around campus to notify students when the next arts and crafts date is. There are QR codes in the media center to sign in, so students can have a spot to spend their study hall in the media center.
