The Paw Print

Mitch Schoener, Sports Editor

Mitch Schoener, the Paw Print’s sole sports editor, is juggling a full schedule here at South. Not only is he in band, but he manages to maintain a steady GPA in all of his other classes, as well as take on any business related to the paper.

Schoener is also the sole sports fan at home, as well as the paper. While his family supports his goals of going into sports broadcasting, the only one who fully understands his obsession is his father.

“My dad is the only one as into sports as I am,” said Schoener.

Schoener’s favorite part of being an editor is the freedom of writing the best and most exciting stories for the paper. However, he doesn’t always get every story he picks.

When asked about his family, Schoener said he hopes his little sister will be equally as into high school as he is.

“She kind of followed my footsteps,” Schoener said. His sister took after him by going out for soccer, and doesn’t appear to be regretting it.

“He’s definitely doing a better job at being sport’s editor than I did,” said Brad McClelland, a fellow colleague of the paper.
